Welcome Xavier Francis!

Xavier is a new PhD student in the Hobson Lab who started in August 2020. He did his undergrad work at Case Western Reserve University, where he did his senior project on gorilla behavior at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Prior to joining the lab, Xavier also worked as an animal care and exhibit usage intern at the Columbus Zoo and as a Wildlife Ecology Apprentice at the Wilds in Columbus, where he studied the endangered American Burying Beetle.

His plan for research in the Hobson Lab is to focus on parakeet behavior, especially connections between affiliative and aggressive behaviors.

Welcome to the lab Xavier!
