NSF grant funded! Vampire bat cooperation

The first big grant for the new Hobson Lab was funded by the NSF!!

The research focuses on sociality in vampire bats across many different levels, from individuals to relationships, to network structures. The work is in collaboration with Gerry Carter and Ian Hamilton at the Ohio State University. Gerry and his group will be handling the empirical side of things, running experiments on social structure in the bats, and my group will be handling the analysis side of things, working on models to detect interesting patterns and investigate how behaviors like cooperative food sharing emerge (in collaboration with Ian and his group).
